Memories of Rockwell Table & Stage...

Sad to hear about the closing of a legendary Los Angeles nightclub/venue called Rockwell Table & Stage. I had the privilege of performing here a few years ago as part of their series “A Little New Music” which showcased songs from brand new musicals.

I got to sing “People Person” which was written by Brian Woodbury for his musical “Ghost-s: The Musical” in which I play an evil real estate developer. Take a few minutes to watch the video:

As soon as it’s safe to do so, please support your local music and theater establishments. They’re gonna need all the help they can get. And seeing live performance is good for the soul!!

Now Available to Stream! "90024: WESTWOOD" Radio Play

UPDATE: OVER 20,000 have listened to the podcasts so far, in over 5 continents!

The Los Angeles Times called the series “Delightful… exceptional… quick and fun and surprising!”

Featured in LAist’s “Best Online Post-Election Diversions!”

Commissioned by Antaeus Theatre Company in August and recorded remotely in September, the 30-minute radio play “90024: Westwood — All Information Herein is Classified” is now available for streaming at Antaeus.org or wherever you get your podcasts.

Directed by Carolyn Ratteray and starring Dawn Didawick, Bo Foxworth, and Catia Ojeda, the play is collection of digital audio FBI files on Eleanor Pender McPherson, an alleged participant in protests in and around UCLA. The two FBI agents assigned to her surveillance learn never to underestimate an 80 year old woman.

I’m so grateful to Antaeus for selecting me to create this piece, to Jeff Gardner for mastering the audio production, and to the director and cast for bringing it to life. I hope you all take a few minutes to listen, and enjoy!

SALEM: POST-MORTEM — Available Streaming Oct 29 - Nov 12, 2020

Proud to be a part of a unique project called “SALEM: POST-MORTEM” which is a poetic new play by Peter Gray, directed by Michael Alvarez. It’s the inaugural project for a new theater company in New York, and if starting a theater company during a pandemic isn’t an act of courage and love, I don’t know what is!

In “SALEM: POST-MORTEM” the witches of Salem awaken once more--this time in the afterlife-- to seek resolution of their unfinished stories and confront the fear which left their town in tatters. When the veneer of Puritan decorum falls away, old voices scramble to regain their status and new voices awaken power they never touched on earth.

It was an international cast of 16 actors, and we all acted as our own film crew, with Michael and Peter guiding us remotely. Such a joy to create during the pandemic, and work with these two amazing creative spirits.

It will be free to watch and can be accessed at www.the-muse-collective.com with donations going to raise money for the Audre Lorde Project.

The Muse Collective was created by Michael Alvarez in 2020 as an umbrella for collaboration and theatrical investigation. Their philosophy is to create art in an attempt to see beyond the veil of waking life, excavating the invisible worlds of our mind, heart, soul, and shared humanity.

Here’s the Broadway World press release with more info, and here’s where this project was featured in Time Out New York’s “Best Live Theater to Watch Online” list!

I’m thrilled to have been selected for the Antaeus Zip Code Radio Plays!

The Antaeus Theatre Company in Los Angeles chose six playwrights to create 30-minute radio plays to produce, which will be released November 30, 2020 FREE to the public online and via podcast. Each play takes place in a different zip code in L.A.

My play, “90024 Westwood: ALL INFORMATION HEREIN IS CLASSIFIED” is a collection of digital audio FBI files on Eleanor Pender McPherson, an alleged participant in protests in and around UCLA. The two FBI agents assigned to her surveillance learn never to underestimate an 80 year old woman.

The amazing Carolyn Ratteray will direct and Jeff Gardner is Audio Producer. Casting to be announced soon!

I’ll be posting again when the final product is available for you to listen to via online (or wherever you listen to podcasts.)
