Singing "People Person"

Last fall I had the thrill of performing a song from a new musical called "Ghost(s) -- The Musical" in a Los Angeles showcase called "A Little New Music" at Rockwell Table and Stage.  The song "People Person" is sung by a character named DeeDee Dupree, the evil, uh... misunderstood real estate developer, and it was written by the brilliant Brian Woodbury.  Enjoy!

Finalist in Chicago's Route 66 Theatre New Play Workshop

My latest play, "Miss Keller's Second Book," was announced as a finalist in Chicago's Route 66 "Test Drive" New Play Workshop today, and I'm so happy about it! I was just working on a new draft of this one, and it's so encouraging to get this kind of validation to keep working on it.

Route 66 Theatre Company introduces, develops, produces, and exports new work for the stage that embrace the American spirit of exploration and risk.

Here's the synopsis for "Miss Keller's Second Book:"
It’s been nearly 50 years since the notoriously reclusive Agnes Keller published her first and only book. Now, with her protective sister recently deceased, Agnes must face the pressures from outside her small sanctuary as she grapples with the inevitability of change, the tangled tethers of family, and the question of an artist’s obligation to the world.

Many thanks to Literary Manager Frances Limoncelli and everyone at Route 66 Theatre Company!

Performing in "A Little New Music" on Wednesday June 3!

I'm looking forward to singing Brian Woodbury's hilarious song "People Person" at the acclaimed L.A. musical theater series "A Little New Music" on Wednesday, June 3 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets available here (they sell out quickly).

Hosted by Tony-winner Daisy Eagan and Jordan Kai Burnett, "A LITTLE NEW MUSIC is a fast-paced hour of the best new or unheard musical theater songs out there. Whether it’s a recent premiere from an established writer or an undiscovered tune from a promising up-and-comer, our mission is to entertain with a program that keeps your finger on the pulse." And who doesn't want their finger on the pulse? I mean, where else should that finger be?

It all takes place at Rockwell Table & Stage (1714 N. Vermont Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90027, in Los Feliz). It even has its own theme song!  Should be a fun night, please join us!

"Holding" Selected as Semifinalist in O'Neill National Playwrights Conference

My newest play, "Holding," has been selected as a Semifinalist in the 2015 Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center is the country’s preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the American theater. The O’Neill has been home to more than 1,000 new works for the stage and 2,500 emerging artists. Scores of projects developed at the O’Neill have gone on to full production at other theaters around the world, including Broadway, Off-Broadway, and major regional theaters.

In "Holding," three worldviews collide when a wealthy American woman finds herself detained with an Egyptian traveler, questioned by a small-town sergeant in a police holding room in Ireland.
